Christian Democrats in the United States

It's time to reconsider our values

The "American Way" is supposed to be about truth and justice. We seem to have gotten away from that, at least in politics.

European "Christian Democrat" parties evolved as a response to communism and fascism, and tend to be more right-leaning with an emphasis on strong military defense and individual liberty free from state interference. Latin American "Christian Democrat" parties evolved as a movement for social and economic justice against mindless profiteering, abuse of the poor and murderous military dictators, but also to protect religious freedom from communist responses to U.S. capitalism and the abuses of economic leverage by profiteers.

In the United States, we have a unique opportunity to combine the best of these principles in a new party that includes compassionate Americans of every origin and religion. However, we must have the courage to take a stand against all attempts to quell our freedom to express our beliefs with fear. We must be willing to speak out at home and abroad against irrational cult religions and religious states that oppress or kill people for choosing their own paths toward faith and belief and for expressing dissent.

USChristianDemocrats.org is not affiliated with any foreign groups, or really anyone, it's just me, an American citizen. You may disagree with my points of view, and I with myself, but I'm trying to reflect what I see as best I can in a spirit of truth to start an open discussion in new terms. If we cannot do that, we will fall, and our common values will be destroyed. All attempts aside to assault our spirits and depress us, we certainly can do that, and stand on the verge of a new age, an age of life, and hardship, and wonder, flying between the planets, and will realize that heaven is not above, it is within you.
