Christian Democrats in the United States

Perspective on issues in Asia.

Mostly this is to write about China. I do not know what to write yet. The government is so insecure and hypocritical that they would be funny if they were not so cruel. More to come.

chinese safety recalls

It is ironic that the recent safety scares about Chinese products affect the working class the most, because they are the cheapest, low quality goods that are affected. It's apparent that some people in China, against the will of their people are waging low-level international war on their own terms, instead of using their free wills to better the world. (Sounds familiar, I know.) But I think there is hope for the Chinese, and for globalization, in that, taken to heart, the ostensible values of equality and a uniform degree of freedom have the same sentiment at the start. I am about to go out on a quality inexpensive city bicycle... thanks to all the craftspeople who assembled it, where ever you are. If the Chinese can have respect for quality, for common rights for all people, so can we. So I think there is hope for the many points of view in Chinese reality, and even for the Communists, to participate peacefully in a shared world. Violent revolt is not necessary for us to better all our lives. We only have to stand up in our individual lives with the courage to support what we each believe is goodness, and it will work out in the end.
